Headquartered in Roseburg, Oregon, healthcare provider Umpqua has over 165 employees and several Douglas County locations. A subsidiary, the Umpqua Health Alliance (UHA), is one of 15 coordinated care organizations (CCOs) in Oregon and has supported members of the Oregon Health Plan since 2012.
As a dispersed organization that required fast, efficient communications between locations, Umpqua needed a solution to create, update, and distribute detailed org charts. Ideally, Umpqua could also use that solution to establish and maintain an online company directory.
Umpqua tried leveraging its existing ADP Workforce solution but found it had limited org chart functionality. It didn’t provide access to all employees and was not user friendly for formatting and printing.
As a result, the Umpqua HR team used Vizio to create and update their org charts manually. This was a time-consuming, labor-intensive process, and the Vizio charts couldn’t capture all the employee information the Umpqua team wanted to display. The manual charts were also difficult to distribute.
Without universal access and a simple distribution process, many stakeholders weren’t working with the most current org chart information. This created challenges for teams trying to communicate and collaborate across multiple locations.
A Google search yielded a shortlist of solution options, and after a careful evaluation, the Umpqua team chose Organimi.

The Umpqua team found Organimi straightforward to implement, and the solution’s intuitive interface presented a minimal learning curve to administrators and the broader user community.
Using Organimi, the Umpqua HR team quickly created org charts and an online directory that included employee photographs. Both the org charts and the directory were available to all Umpqua personnel via published intranet links.
Gena Averett, an HR professional at Umpqua who works extensively with Organimi, noted the enthusiastic response to Organimi. “The user feedback has been very positive,” she says. “Everyone loves it — especially the easy-to-use features like Search.”
Moving forward, the HR team plans to integrate Organimi with Umpqua’s ADP Workforce solution to automate the org chart and directory updating process further. This will reduce the administrative workload even more and give the HR team time back to pursue other initiatives.

Organimi has also been instrumental in improving customer service. “Our call center has to direct calls to everyone across the organization,” says Averett. “Now they can type a name into the directory and quickly find extensions. That makes life a lot easier for our call center team — and our customers.”
