Overview

Choosing the right size of shoes and apparel when shopping online is never easy. True Fit determines the best fitting apparel sizes for shoppers by combining their personal shopping history with proprietary fit data from more than 1,000 brand partners. 

True Fit’s small HR team needed a dedicated org chart tool that was simple to use, yet powerful enough to display the organization and each department in various ways.

Business Challenge

The True Fit team was using their existing HRMS solution to build org charts, but it had limitations. The charts were difficult to update and had limited customization capabilities for adding additional data fields.

The existing charts also had little flexibility in how they could display different departments within the organization. This limited their usefulness for business planning and creating ‘what if’ organizational scenarios.

However, any new org chart solution had to integrate with the legacy HRMS system and needed the ability to import personnel data from the existing tool.

Finally, the HR team required a solution that could easily share org charts with all stakeholders company-wide — something they couldn’t do with their existing HRMS system.

Solution

The True Fit HR team found Organimi by conducting a Google search, then worked with its IT group to ensure that Organimi’s org chart solution was the best fit.

A primary factor in choosing Organimi was the ease in integrating with the existing True Fit HRMS platform. “We liked how simple it was to import data to Organimi from our HR system,” says Nina Peppel, True Fit’s People & Culture Coordinator.

Peppel appreciated Organimi’s flexibility. “Other tools we evaluated just made flowcharts,” she says. “Organimi lets us add more detail to individual profiles, and we can build out org charts by department or however we want without starting over every time.” This flexibility made the Organimi org charts valuable tools in the True Fit organizational planning process.

The True Fit team was also able to integrate Organimi into its Okta identity and access management platform, providing all company employees access to the most up to date org charts. “We have a button on our Okta homepage,” explains Peppel. “It’s an embedded link to the Organimi org charts. Now, everyone can easily view them.”

Benefits

Exporting personnel information from True Fit’s legacy HRMS system to Organimi reduces the time and effort needed to create and maintain the True Fit org charts. The True Fit team is also looking at using Organimi’s SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol) integration to automatically update Organimi with any changes made in the existing HRMS tool. These automatic updates would further reduce org chart administrative requirements.

Organimi gives the True Fit HR team the capability to quickly create custom org charts down to the departmental level. This capability is particularly valuable for executive planning and evaluating future organizational scenarios.

Peppel is certain that her team has yet to tap all of Organimi’s potential. For example, Organimi’s Smart Legend allows the HR team to use color codes and custom badging to convey more information visually. “I’m sure we’re just scratching the surface with Organimi,” says Peppel. “But we’re very happy with it so far.”
