Overview
SharpSpring is a provider of sales and marketing automation and CRM in one easy solution delivered via a cloud-based Software-as-a Service (SaaS) platform. SharpSpring also integrates with many popular small business and CRM solutions, including Salesforce, Shopify, Surveypal, and FreshBooks.
As a high growth company undergoing a global expansion, SharpSpring needed a way to create, update, and distribute detailed organization charts to their internal stakeholders. The solution had to be simple to use, yet powerful enough to capture detailed role information and frequent, dynamic organizational changes.
Business Challenge
A small but rapidly expanding software company, SharpSpring had taken over responsibility for a number of global offices as part of an acquisition. Alana Christou, SharpSpring’s Director of Human Resources & Recruitment, needed to create and share org charts that captured detailed personnel and role information, while also uniting the teams under one umbrella. “I basically inherited Word documents with boxes and names,” she explains. “It was a nightmare.”
Rapid growth and ongoing organizational changes meant frequent new hires and constant org chart updates, creating an ongoing administrative burden. The org charts were also difficult to distribute, and it was a challenge to ensure stakeholders were receiving the most updated information. “We needed a solution that was easy to use,” says Christou. “It had to be dynamic — simple to update in real-time and easily accessible to everyone all over the world.”
The solution also needed the ability to break out org chart information into different views — geographical (by country) and functional.

The HR team makes extensive use of Organimi’s color-coding capabilities, employing various colors to represent different departments and a separate color to highlight open positions.
SharpSpring also imbeds Organimi directly into their intranet site, providing the global team with highly visible and easy access to the most current organizational data. “The live updates just automatically show up on our intranet site, which benefits everyone,” says Christou.
SharpSpring is constantly hiring and restructuring, and Organimi has proven invaluable in the planning process. “Organimi helps us offer all stakeholders a clear picture of what the business looks like and where it’s going,” explains Christou.
