Overview

Air France, the French flag carrier and a founding member of the SkyTeam alliance, operates globally with complex organizational structures across multiple regions and departments. Within North America, their HR team manages operations across the USA, Canada, Mexico, and French Polynesia, supporting cargo, commercial, and engineering functions.

Business Challenge

Air France’s HR team needed a faster, more scalable way to manage and maintain organizational structures across multiple regions and departments. With frequent updates and evolving team structures, the goal was to simplify org chart management while improving visibility for internal teams, leadership, and external stakeholders.

They also needed a solution that could support key HR workflows such as aligning with internal HR systems, coordinating with international teams, and managing compliance processes like employment sponsorship visas. At the same time, they wanted clean, professional visuals that could be used in presentations, leadership meetings, and customer-facing materials.

Before Organimi, managing org charts was a manual and time-intensive process. Creately, the previous solution, required constant updates, often involving tedious adjustments just to reflect small changes.

As organizational changes happened frequently, keeping charts accurate became difficult. Updates could take significant time, and in some cases teams would wait weeks for changes to be reflected. Sharing org charts was also inefficient, with teams relying on multiple static PDF slides that were harder to navigate and not ideal for presentations.

This created friction for the HR team, especially when speed, accuracy, and clarity were critical.

It was just user friendly. Everybody can use it. It’s very intuitive.

Solution

Organimi provided Air France with a centralized, intuitive platform to build, update, and share org charts in real time.

The team was able to quickly import and structure their organization across regions including the USA, Canada, Mexico, and French Polynesia. Updates that once required manual effort could now be completed in seconds, with changes instantly visible to others.

The platform’s ease of use made it accessible across teams. Shameeza, HR Coordinator, noted that it was “very intuitive” and easy for anyone to use. The import functionality stood out as a key feature, helping streamline setup and ongoing updates.

Organimi also became a core part of daily workflows. The HR team uses it alongside their HR systems to identify and manage changes, ensuring accuracy across the organization. It plays an important role in supporting compliance processes, including providing clear reporting structures required for visa and USCIS-related applications.

Beyond HR, the charts are used by management in presentations and customer decks, providing a clear and professional way to communicate organizational structure.

Benefits

Since implementing Organimi, Air France has significantly improved the speed and efficiency of its org chart management. Updates that previously took weeks can now be completed in seconds, allowing the HR team to keep pace with ongoing organizational changes.

This has had a direct impact on productivity. Shameeza shared that requests from managers and VPs that once took considerable time can now be fulfilled in just a couple of minutes. The ability to quickly reflect accurate structures has made day-to-day operations smoother and more responsive.

The platform has also improved how information is shared and consumed across teams. Colleagues find the charts more user-friendly and easier on the eyes compared to reviewing dozens of static PDF slides. This has made presentations more effective and improved overall visibility into the organization.

With faster processes, better visibility, and a more intuitive experience, Organimi is helping Air France move toward its goal of a more efficient HR function. As Shameeza puts it, she would absolutely recommend Organimi to other organizations looking for an org chart solution.

TWe’ve had awesome feedback… everything is much clearer, the teams are clearer.
