Hinto is a dynamic, matrix-based organization with an organizational structure driven by current projects. Their legacy org chart solution was difficult to maintain and couldn’t accurately reflect the fluid, collaborative nature of the Hinto organization.

Business Challenge

The Hinto CEO, Mauro Pugliese, had previous experience with Organimi and wanted to determine if Organimi’s new, matrix-based org chart capabilities were a fit.  “We needed a solution that reflected how we work,” says Pugliese. “We are very agile as a company, with many cross-functional teams and constantly changing reporting relationships.”

Hinto’s legacy solution was difficult to update, and distributing the most current charts was also difficult. As well, Hinto’s typical engagements with customers included team members from across the organization, including sales, product development, delivery, and technical support. Hinto needed org charts that were visual, intuitive, and easy for customers to understand.

“We knew we had to have an org chart solution that had strong matrix capabilities to represent our company structure and culture accurately,” says Pugliese.

Solution

The Organimi matrix feature allowed Hinto to set up their org chart as a grid, rather than in a traditional, hierarchical fashion. The matrix org charts could reflect employee relationships with two or more managers and represent Hinto team members as part of multiple, cross-functional teams.

Organimi’s matrix org chart creation tool gave Hinto all of the same features and ease-of-use functionality as the classic Organimi solution, enabling Hinto to quickly and easily create, modify, and distribute updated org charts. The company could also create customized, project-based org charts for specific customers.

Hinto also incorporated Organimi’s Smart Chart features, including color-coding and custom badging. Using these features, Hinto could create simple visual representations of different ‘communities,’ such as sales, development, design, and service. 

“The Organimi charts are easy to share and accurately capture our organization and our teams,” says Pugliese.
